You're Not Alone

Sleep struggles often start in the nervous system

Lying awake with a mind that won't slow down

Waking through the night, or far too early

Feeling "tired but wired" — exhausted yet unable to rest

A body that stays tense or on alert, even in safe moments

Dreading bedtime because you know sleep won't come easily

Daytime fatigue, irritability, and trouble focusing

You don't need a diagnosis or the "right" words to begin. If some of this feels familiar, that's reason enough to reach out.

A Moment to Reflect

What is your body still bracing for, even when you're safe?

If sitting with these stirred something, that feeling is worth listening to. You don't need to have the answers to begin — therapy is simply a place to explore them, gently and at your pace. Book a free consultation →

Our Approach to Healing

Whole-person care — mind, emotion & body

Sleep depends on mind, emotion, and body settling together. We draw together evidence-based and experiential approaches, always at a pace that feels safe — because lasting change happens when the whole of you is included.

The Mind · Cognitive

Thoughts & patterns

Working with the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that keep you stuck — building practical skills for clarity and choice, drawing on CBT, DBT, and ACT.

The Emotions · Experiential

Feelings & parts of you

Turning toward what you feel, and the different parts of you, so emotion becomes something you can understand and move through — drawing on EFT and IFS.

The Body · Somatic

Nervous system & body

Poor sleep usually means a nervous system stuck in alert; somatic and regulation work help it learn to downshift. We include body-based, nervous-system work because change has to be felt, not just understood.

A Holistic Lens

When the body won't let go

Sleeplessness is often treated as a mechanical fault — a habit to correct or a switch that won't flip. We see it as a message from the whole of you. Sleep asks the nervous system to let go, and a system that doesn't feel safe enough to release will stay awake, no matter how tired you are.

Sleep can't be forced. It comes when the whole of you finally feels safe enough to stop bracing.

A holistic lens looks at the whole picture — not just the sleepless hours, but the person and the life around them. What is your body still bracing for when the lights go out? What moves into the foreground the moment the day goes quiet — the worries, the replays, the things left unfinished? The night simply shows you what the day kept at bay.

Here's the trap: the harder you try to make yourself sleep, the more activated you become. Effort is the opposite of the letting-go that sleep requires. The very struggle to control it is part of what keeps it out of reach.

Rest returns not by trying harder, but by helping the whole system feel safe enough to release — settling the nervous system, and tending to what keeps it on guard in the first place. As what's unfinished is met in the daylight, the body has less reason to stand watch at night.

A Different Kind of Support

How we help with sleep & nervous-system regulation

Sleep isn't something you can force — it arrives when your body feels safe enough to let go. So rather than only chasing sleep tips, we pay attention to what keeps your system switched on: the worries that surface at night, the tension you carry, the sense of not-quite-safe that lingers in your body. Bringing gentle awareness to this is where real change starts.

From there we combine nervous-system regulation, emotional processing, and practical support for winding down — helping your body relearn the settling it's forgotten how to do. We work at a pace that never adds pressure, because pressure is the enemy of sleep. As your system learns it's safe to rest, sleep tends to follow.

As your system learns it's safe to rest, sleep tends to return on its own. But the deeper change is a body that no longer braces through the night — and days that feel steadier because they're finally built on real rest.

Common Questions

Questions, answered

Is this the same as sleep-hygiene advice?
It goes deeper. Tips help, but if your nervous system is stuck on alert, they often aren't enough. We address the underlying regulation, not just the routine.
My sleep problem is stress or anxiety — can you still help?
Yes — that's exactly our focus. Sleep, stress, and the nervous system are deeply linked, and we work with all of them together.
Should I see a doctor too?
If a medical sleep condition might be involved, we'll encourage you to check with your physician. Our work complements medical care by addressing the stress and nervous-system side.
How do I start?
Book a free consultation. Susan, our Client Care Manager, will match you with a therapist suited to your needs.
