Sayena Heidari
Compassionate, strength-based therapy for adults, families, and teens — in English and Farsi, with a lens that helps you reconnect with your own resilience.
Sayena Heidari is a Registered Psychotherapist offering compassionate, strength-based therapy for individuals, families, and adolescents — in both English and Farsi. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and brings a trauma-informed lens to every session.
Her work helps clients navigate life's challenges, reconnect with their inner resilience, and build lasting emotional well-being. Sayena believes every person's journey is unique and deserves to be met with understanding and respect — so she creates a space that feels safe, empathetic, and collaborative, tailoring each session to the client in front of her.
Her practice draws on a range of evidence-based modalities — Emotion-Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Gestalt — adapted to what each client needs. Throughout, she works from a strength-based perspective that recognises the capacities and resources clients already carry.
Over the past decade, Sayena has worked across community mental health agencies, including the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and several psychotherapy centres — gaining wide experience in assessment, therapy, and supporting people with diverse concerns. Outside the therapy room, she loves nature walks, gardening, and time with her family of four.
Resilience-focused care — in two languages.
Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed
Sayena meets every client through a strength-based, trauma-informed lens — beginning not with what's broken but with the capacities and resources you already hold. Her role is to help cultivate the self-awareness and self-compassion that let you find balance and meaning.
Care in English & Farsi
Sayena offers therapy in both English and Farsi, with a deep understanding of cross-cultural identity and the experience of navigating more than one world. For Farsi-speaking clients, that means doing the work in the language closest to the heart.
A Decade in Community Mental Health
Ten-plus years across the Canadian Mental Health Association and several psychotherapy centres — wide-ranging experience in assessment and therapy with people facing diverse concerns, brought now to her private practice in Aurora.
