Jodie Cara Lindley
Trauma-informed bodywork that helps the nervous system find its way back to balance — gently, and at your own pace.
Jodie Cara Lindley is a trauma-informed bodyworker with over twenty years of foundational experience as a Registered Massage Therapist, and more than fifteen years in energy healing.
Over the years her focus has shifted toward the nervous system. She now specialises in working with developmental trauma (in-utero and birth), PTSD and trauma, anxiety and depression, physiological and psychological syndromes, energy blockages, stress disorders, and a range of pain and physical issues.
Her sessions centre on nervous-system regulation and reorganisation — discharging traumatic stress, releasing muscular and fascial bracing, restoring primitive reflexes, and clearing energy blockages. Each session is shaped by the client's goals and presenting symptoms, drawing on CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release, Somatic Experiencing®, Reiki and shamanic healing, and Transforming Touch® developmental-trauma protocols.
Jodie also has experience supporting pre- and post-psychedelic and plant-medicine participants, where bodywork can meaningfully enhance integration. Her practice is built around integrated sessions — she no longer offers traditional Swedish massage.
Body-based, integrative, and her own practice.
Body-Based & Trauma-Informed
Jodie works with the nervous system through safe, attuned presence and touch — helping the body discharge stored stress, soften bracing patterns, and move toward greater regulation and ease.
An Independent Wellness Practice
Jodie is not a psychotherapist. She practises independently as an RMT and somatic practitioner through her own practice, Soma Essence Healing — which manages all of her own scheduling, billing, and professional responsibilities.
Integration, Not Quick Fixes
The body and nervous system shift over time. Jodie's work is mindful and compassionate, unfolding at each client's own pace and rhythm — with change typically noticed after about four weekly sessions.
An integration of mind, body & spirit.
Jodie weaves together several modalities, chosen for each client's goals and presenting symptoms — all aimed at bringing more regulation into the nervous system and gently unearthing patterns of stress, pain, and blocked life-force energy.
What Jodie supports.
Jodie works with ages 12 and up, supporting the body and nervous system through trauma, stress, and a range of physical and energetic concerns.
Booking & Billing
Jodie handles her own scheduling and billing through her independent practice, Soma Essence Healing. Sessions are booked directly at somaessencehealing.com.
Jodie is not a psychotherapist; her services are separate from the psychotherapy offered at the Centre, and are billed independently through her own practice.
Good to Know
Integrated sessions only. Jodie no longer offers traditional Swedish massage — her work combines bodywork, somatic, and energy modalities tailored to each person.
This takes time. Change is typically noticed after about four weekly sessions, as the body and nervous system gradually shift toward balance.
