Theodora Tong
Trauma-informed, attachment-based therapy for the client who's already done meaningful work — and knows they're ready to go deeper.
Theodora Tong is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing trauma-informed, attachment-based therapy for adults. NYU-trained in psychodynamic and creative arts psychotherapy, she works with people who have already done meaningful work — and know they're ready to go deeper.
With over seven years of clinical experience across private practice, community mental health, and integrative treatment settings, Theodora supports clients through the long arc of trauma healing and relational repair. She works particularly well with insightful, self-aware people who feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns — the kind talk therapy alone hasn't been able to fully reach.
Much of her practice focuses on adults who were required to grow up too fast — and who now navigate the long-term effects of attachment wounds, persistent anxiety, depression, and self-worth challenges. Beyond conventional talk therapy, she holds specialised training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for developmental and attachment trauma, and advanced study in Vocal Psychotherapy — focused on emotional expression, psychosomatic healing, and relational repair.
Her work integrates NARM, psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Jungian-informed parts work, mindfulness, and psychosomatic interventions — bringing the right tools to each person rather than applying a single method to everyone. The work unfolds at your pace, in a calm, non-judgmental space designed for deep emotional regulation, insight, and relational repair.
Specialised trauma work — beyond cognitive insight.
NARM & Developmental Trauma
Theodora holds specialised training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model — a leading framework for developmental and attachment trauma in adults. NARM works at the intersection of self-regulation and connection, for clients carrying the unmet needs and survival patterns of having grown up too fast.
Vocal Psychotherapy & Creative Integration
Advanced training in vocal psychotherapy, guided imagery, and music therapy opens access to the pre-verbal and somatic layers where attachment trauma is held — emotions that often stay out of reach in talk therapy. Always offered as an additional pathway, never required.
NYU-Trained Psychodynamic Depth
Graduate training at one of North America's most rigorous programs in psychodynamic and creative arts psychotherapy. For self-aware clients who've already done meaningful work, this depth is what lets therapy finally reach the patterns underneath.
Trauma-informed and integrative.
Theodora draws from multiple frameworks, adapting to what each client needs — bringing the right tools to each person rather than one method to everyone. Her work pairs depth-oriented psychodynamic practice with body-based and creative modalities, for change that reaches beyond insight alone.
